Hi! I’m Tony, a recent Master of Education graduate in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of Alberta. I have experience teaching English learners at a variety of levels, from foundational literacy to advanced IELTS preparation.

My background includes teaching IELTS Academic and General Training, Duolingo English Test preparation, academic writing, and general English, as well as completing a teaching practicum with a CLB 4 LINC class.

I love tutoring because I enjoy helping students turn difficult language concepts into clear, manageable steps. Whether we are working on IELTS reading strategies, essay organization, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, or speaking confidence, I focus on helping students understand not only the correct answer, but also the reasoning and strategies behind it. My goal is to help students become more confident and independent learners.

As someone who has personally taken the IELTS exam and completed graduate-level studies in Canada, I understand the challenges that international students and newcomers may experience. I am patient, supportive, and committed to creating a comfortable learning environment where students feel confident asking questions and practising their English.
