Who We Are
Hi! Welcome to Lomita Tutoring Corp.
Our names are Balbina and Vicente, the owners of Lomita Tutoring Corp. We are also the winners of the Young Entrepreneur Award for the year of 2024. We are not a franchise, it’s just us two - a local business ran by siblings.
The two of us are born and raised in St. Albert, Balbina and Vicente are alumni from the University of Alberta for Master of Engineering in Geotechnical and Electrical Engineering respectively.
Over time, Lomita has grown and we are grateful to now work alongside a team of dedicated tutors who share our passion for helping students learn and build confidence. We focus on quality rather than quantity when selecting tutors to ensure students receive the support they deserve.
Looking forward to meeting you virtually or in person and helping you succeed.

Why we started
We believe that every student has the ability to learn and achieve their desired goals. All you truly need is the right support and that’s why where Lomita comes into the picture.
We were certainly not always the top in the class during our high school years. Quite frankly, we had to study long hours just to understand concepts. So, we get it. We get how frustrating it is to study numerous hours and still not understand the concept. We were there too, but since tapping into getting extra support - we were able to turn the story around. And so can you!
Tutoring Catered to YOU
Lomita Tutoring is highly devoted to quality over quantity and the numbers show for it. We helped over 120 unique families in 2025 alone! We help pick the tutors best for your situation that can help them confidently excel in their classes.
