Alexander

Hi! My name is Alexander, and I recently graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Science, completing a double major in Neuroscience and Criminology. Before university, I completed the full International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme, so I know firsthand how exciting and overwhelming academic challenges can be. Having navigated demanding coursework myself, I understand the importance of having someone who can explain concepts clearly, build confidence, and make learning feel manageable.

I am passionate about helping students reach their academic goals and develop a genuine appreciation for learning. Through years of studying across a wide range of disciplines, I have built a strong foundation in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, the Social Sciences, English, and Spanish, and I enjoy helping students make connections that allow these subjects to truly click and encourage an environment where questions are always welcome.

My approach to tutoring is centred on the belief that every student learns differently. Rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all method, I take the time to understand each student's strengths and challenges, adapting my teaching to meet their individual needs. My goal is not only to improve grades but also to help students become more confident, independent learners who feel capable of tackling future challenges on their own.

Outside of academics, I'm a huge film enthusiast (ask me about my top four movies of all time!) and have a passion for theatre - I had the opportunity to direct a full-stage musical during my final year at university. I also enjoy attempting to play the violin and am currently assisting with research at the University of Calgary. I'm excited to meet new students, support them throughout their academic journey, and help them discover that learning can be both rewarding and enjoyable.
